Now, I know the surround speakers work just from moving the plugs. This is because of the reclined dashboard. I've taken my stereo out and ensured that all the cables are plugged into the back of it, which they were, so I'm assuming it's close to the rear speakers which are a bitch to get to. G If you buy, mention the owners club!!! I've tried all the answers given, and none of them have worked for me. I'm a musician so by default I'm also kind of an audiophile, I hate cheap headphones and equipment, and I put a lot of money into my guitar equipment and home audio setup.
When I fade to the back it just cuts out completely, so it's not a bad line to one of the speakers, but the back speaker connection is good behind the cd player. A great deal of things must agree in order for all this to work properly, in fact, I have found that the surround channel seems to activate on some browsers on YouTube and not others. This will involve you removing the center console and shifter. No stock wiring to the rear speakers on the base system. I would think that more speakers would sound better, but I've been on here long enough to see that you are way more knowledgable in this area than I am, so I would like to hear your reasons. I personally am not an audiophile hence why I like the rear. Saying that would mean that you have never heard decent rears in a Z? Getting to them isn't bad, it just looks and reads like it'll be a pain. Rear speakers are also for rear passengers and with such a small car with no rear seats I do not see the need for them. Thanks to Damien for finding them originally. Can someone please shed some light. This is usually a car stereo problem. You would have to run two wires to the front and clip 4 wires in total into the stock wiring harness in order for this to work with a stock head unit. Hello, I just had an issue where my back speakers would have no sound.
My experience with this mod was I speant more time researching how to do it, then I actually spent doing the job. I'm guessing there is a bad cable or something came disconnected. Thanks for the replies lads. I'm guessing that the tweeters are hooked up with the door speakers right? So I think I'll stay away from 2 ohm speakers for the time being! Half of why I thought this was because the middle pillars have the spot for the speakers, I havent had the time to pull the panels off so I just assumed there were speakers in there. Now, I know the surround speakers work just from moving the plugs. Remove the 3 rear hatch panels as been documented many times before. If you have the time, and the gumption to tinker, I'd recommend amp-boards and quality power supplies for computer connected systems all day.
