I went into this film with bottom barrel expectations. Things kick off with the accidental death of the serial murderer that is killed and then drained by the shop-vac and ends up with the inside of the house liberally sprayed in the blood after the vampire attack. But when two dead bodies turn up with strange animal attack marks, the Harkers convince the town that a vampire is on the loose and promise to kill it on stage at their family home. If you can just relax and sit back and just enjoy this ride, do it. Time for some vampires and goofballs! But as with any decent adolescent, the movie soon stars to grow up.
The only problem is, the actor they hired to play the vampire is killed and replaced by an actual vampire who the Harkers. Of all the movies I've 'Starred' over the years, this is only the second - possibly third - time that I have taken the time to include a written explanation of my review. But sometimes you just can't make everyone laugh. If you want to watch a funny horror show just watch Ash vs Evil Dead instead. One of the stated goals here at the horror dude blog is to turn you guys onto movies that you might not have heard of before.
Hope they'll do another one with werewolves soon - the ending seemed to indicate that would happen. However, it's a quality B movie. I Had A Bloody Good Time At House Harker 2016 It's been generations since the Harkers' great-great grandfather killed Count Dracula. Also, is the exploding into a blood shower after dead thing so funny it has to be in most of these kind of movies? This movie earned all five stars a mere 10-15 minutes into the film. So effective were the Harkers that now, over a hundred years later, vampires are so scarce that most people do not believe that they even exist. I've been a Prime member ever since its inception without lapse. For it was not just the death of the count, it was the destruction of 'The Master's Power.
I want to see the Harkers fight some damn Lycanthropes! The big fight with the house full of vampires is filled with funny bits that are spot on and come at the audience rapidly. Of course, as with any past, it follows and we end up in the present day with three siblings, descendants of Mina and Jonathan, about to lose the family homestead. After retiring he missed getting yelled at which is why he ended up married to a horrible woman. However, I also fall back on running B movies -- especially horror ones -- in the background at home, so keep that in mind. The film does spend a bit of time building these idiosyncratic characters but the crux of the film is a merging of events.
Until then I recommend finding yourself a copy of I Had a Bloody Good Time at House Harker. If you are the type of horror fan that gets their comedy straight from your horror movies, or the type that enjoys the odd horror comedy, you're going to love this movie. What I got was a strange story about family squabbles and vampires with a touch of heart. For it was not just the death of the count, it was the destruction of 'The Master's Power. Unique films without a doubt tend to rate higher in my eyes and it no doubt was going to be unique but i never expected to be doubled up with laughter at lines delivered dead-pan and with perfect timing. The only thing that they brought with them was the skull of the master vampire, which if it absorbs blood can wake up a sleeping vampire.

These guys know their comedy and how to make an audience chuckle. The violence is overexaggerated so it is not really scary. That means I end up watching a lot of low budget independent flicks which sadly leads to many miserable nights. Though in many cases they are played for laughs and done so very well.
Though finding a movie like House Harker makes all the hours I sit rolling my eyes at the nonsense on the screen worth it. An intertitle tells us that, following the events in , Jonathan and Mina take Quincey Dylan Fox Williams to America. That doesn't mean it's not still funny and disgusting. If you are the type of horror fan that gets their comedy straight from your horror movies, or the type that enjoys the odd horror comedy, you're going to love this movie. The actors had great chemistry , and the gore is fun enough as it gets going.
The movie was funded by Kickstarter, and just released last week. He will create an army of the undead starting with the Harkers. A more light hearted take on the genre, skewering modern fascination with vampires while simultaneously keeping a humorous and upbeat tempo to the whole thing.
